Conflict Mediation
What is it?
Northeastern University is committed to promoting a safe working, learning, and living environment for all members of the campus community. The Office of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution (OSCCR) provides the opportunity for staff, faculty, students or student groups to request mediation services for potential conflict or active conflict that needs resolving. This process involves a member of the OSCCR office directly participating and facilitating a conversations between the parties in conflict with the goal of reaching a compromised solution.
Who can it benefit?
A facilitated mediation can benefit any members of the Northeastern community whom are currently engaged in conflict when all parties are interested and committed in seeking a resolution. This process is informal, and does not involve an investigation or alleged violation of University policy.
This service requires a student to be involved. If there is conflict between two or more university employees, please contact your Human Resources representative.
Mediation Process:

- All involved come prepared ready to reach a collaborative compromise.
- The OSCCR facilitator will be in charge of the mediation and can end it whenever they deem appropriate.
- How to Request
- Please submit a formal request form which can be found under the Conflict Resolution menu on the OSCCR website. If you are experiencing any issues finding or completing it, please contact our office.
